Photographed over several years at Atlanta’s Piedmont Hospital and other Georgia locations, Dying To Live follows four people as their health deteriorates while they wait for and either receive or fail to receive a life-saving organ transplant. Every day in the United States about 20 people die waiting for a transplant organ, because not enough of us are donors. Dying To Live brings to light some of the human faces and compelling real-life stories behind this tragic statistic. As it examines this important social issue, the documentary brings us into the life of a courageous woman who decides to donate a kidney to someone she has never met and follows their relationship afterwards. Another scenario includes a rarely filmed meeting between a vital organ recipient and the family of her deceased donor.
