Boeing’s Nightmare- The 737 Max Commercial Jet
The Boeing 737 MAX is a narrow-body aircraft series manufactured by Boeing Commercial Airplanes as the fourth generation of the Boeing 737, succeeding the Boeing 737 Next Generation (NG). It is based on earlier 737 designs, re-engined with more efficient CFM International LEAP-1B engines, aerodynamic changes (including distinctive split-tip winglets), and airframe modifications. After two Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft crashed in October 2018 and March 2019 causing 346 deaths, aviation authorities around the world grounded the 737 MAX series. Boeing aims to fix problems with the jet, and return the 737 MAX to service in the U.S. by the end of 2019, while the EASA expects a return to service in the first quarter of 2020.
